Our Story

The Seed Is Where All
Nourishment Begins

A story about what we forgot, and why it matters.

What We Come From

Seeds have been part of Indian kitchens for as long as anyone can remember. Til in winter for warmth. Alsi ground into atta for the heart. Ajwain tempered into dal for digestion. Methi dana soaked overnight for blood sugar. These weren't health hacks — they were rituals, passed down with love from one generation to the next.

No one counted macros. No one read labels. They just knew — this seed does this, that seed does that. It was wisdom embedded in food, in culture, in the way we cared for each other.

“Somewhere between our mothers' kitchens and our modern pantries, we forgot the simplest truth — the seed is where all nourishment begins.”

What We Became

We're the generation that replaced kitchens with pharmacies. Iron tablets for what alsi gave us. Omega capsules for what til already had. Zinc supplements for what kaddu ke beej delivered for centuries. Our bathroom shelves have more pills than our kitchens have spices.

57% of Indian women are anaemic. Over 80% of us are magnesium-deficient. And our answer is more synthetic tablets — tablets with poor bioavailability, GI side effects, and an expiry date we forget to check. We traded ancestral wisdom for prescriptions. Not because the food stopped working. Because we stopped eating it.

What BEEJ Is

BEEJ isn't a new idea. It's a remembered one.

We work directly with farming families across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand — the same communities that have grown these seeds for generations. One scoop of our Daily Seed Mix in your morning curd gives you 22g protein, 8.5g omega-3, 44% of your daily iron, and 83% of your magnesium. From food. Not a lab.

But we're not asking you to take this on blind faith either. We test every batch for heavy metals, pesticides, and aflatoxins. We put the results on every pack via a QR code. Because if we're asking you to trust food again, we need to earn that trust the way this generation expects — with transparency, not just tradition.

Our Name

बीज means seed in Sanskrit. But it also means origin — the beginning, the source from which everything grows. Give a seed the right soil, and it becomes something extraordinary.

We believe the seed of good health isn't a supplement or a trend. It's food — real, honest, grown in Indian soil, trusted by Indian families for longer than anyone can remember. We're not inventing anything. We're just bringing back what we forgot.
